Hi! I’m offering in-home piano lessons in Coronado and the Cays to anyone desiring to learn from ages 6 to… never too late! For interested students of any age, I also offer preparation for the examinations and qualifications from the Royal Conservatory of Music based in the UK.

A little about me… I began my undergraduate studies in piano performance at age 16 at the Hartt School of Music, CT and thereafter at the Peabody Institute, Baltimore. My foremost teachers, were both students under the renowned musician and pedagogue, Jozsef Gat at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest. From them, I was thoroughly schooled in the Liszt’s approach to the instrument - which emphasizes a very natural relationship to the piano, along with exercises which develop technique and dexterity without daily hours spent on technical studies AND methods to practice which are very efficient and focused on musicality. It is quite fulfilling for me to be able to pass this very accessible knowledge on to any student who wishes to study with me.

In 1995, I moved with my husband - concert guitarist - Prof. Aldo Lagrutta to Germany where we traveled the world concertizing while I simultaneously ran a european based classical events concert agency - Vanguard Concerts. In the past few years, I have been splitting my time between my residences in Germany and Coronado. I train 6 mornings a week here in a professional ballet program, in addition to branching out into songwriting and compositional collaboration with ballet choreographers.

My final thoughts to you: I incorporate within my approach the findings from Neuroscience with which I seek not just to bring out the natural abilities of a student but to actually create abilities in the student.

In the words of Aristotle: “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then is not an act but a habit.” With this in mind, I guide my students to follow the standards and strategies I use for myself to learn quickly and effectively with excellence in musical quality.
