Looking for a Brand New Piano for Sale? We Offer Just About Every Type

Each new piano available at Greene Music suits a different pianist, with one for every player, from entry-level to professional musicians. When looking to buy new pianos, there are four key types. To help you shop new pianos with ease, here’s what you should know:

  • Grand Pianos: This acoustic piano is coveted for its aesthetic appeal, gravity-based action and robust sound. Concert models of this piano can be 9ft long, while baby grands are just 5ft long. Grands offer a more resonant sound and have faster repetition due to the gravity-based action.
  • Upright Pianos: Ideal for making music, upright pianos are acoustic pianos with a vertical orientation. Strings are arranged top to bottom for a more space-saving design.
  • Digital Pianos: These pianos replicate the touch and sound of a real acoustic piano in a compact form. Can be played out loud or silently with headphones and are ideal for those with limited space. Digital pianos often come with a variety of educational, entertainment, or performance features.
  • Hybrid Pianos: These pianos combine the best of digital and acoustic pianos. The Yamaha AvantGrand hybrid piano features a real acoustic action and the sound of a Yamaha concert grand. It can be played out loud or silently with headphones.

FAQ

How much does a new piano cost on average?

New piano prices vary based on the make and model of piano you are hoping to purchase. For help selecting a piano or to get the new piano cost of an item in our inventory, contact one of our piano advisors.

How does a grand piano differ from an upright piano?

They are primarily differentiated by the way in which the strings run. A grand piano’s strings run horizontally giving it a larger layout and also has a gravity-based action, while an upright piano has strings running vertically. In a grand piano, the lid can be propped open which allows sound to project more freely. The lid in an upright piano is much smaller, but can also be propped open.

Is it better to buy a new or used piano?

Both new and used pianos come with many benefits. New pianos come with a factory warranty and our 100% trade-up policy. You can also buy with confidence knowing that you will be the first owner of the instrument. Our used pianos come with a Greene Music warranty and 100% trade-up policy (unless otherwise noted).
