Authentic piano performance
The P-125a allows for incredible dynamics and expressiveness. The Pure CF Sound Engine includes the sound of the renowned Yamaha CFIIIS 9′ concert grand piano. It is the result of over a century of acoustic piano craftsmanship combined with state-of-the-art technology and expertise.
In addition, the Graded Hammer Standard (GHS) 88-key piano keyboard provides a heavier touch in the low end and lighter touch in the high end so it can be played with the expressiveness of an acoustic piano.
Immersive grand piano sound
When a grand piano is played, the entire instrument resonates, extending the sound both upward and downward. The P-125a is designed to recreate this sonic experience so that the sound surrounds you as you play.
The speakers for the higher register are crisp and responsive, making it easy to perform classical music as well as jazz, pop, and other genres where the sound needs to hit hard and fast. The speakers for the low register emit deep, rich sound that make you feel like you’re playing a much larger instrument. We optimized the balance between these two-way speakers to achieve clear sound quality and stereophonic resonance from attack to decay in all registers.

Simple operation and practice features using the Smart Pianist app
Smart Pianist allows you to control* the many functions included in your Yamaha digital piano with your smart device. Voices, rhythms, and other settings can be selected through the familiar touch screen of your phone or tablet, making it easy to get the results you’re looking for from your piano.
You can also use the Chord Analysis feature to learn how to play the chords of your favorite songs. The app analyzes songs in your smart devices’ music library, and displays their chord symbols.
