Jasmine Lopez

Jasmine began teaching piano at 15 years old after completing level 10 of the Certificate of Merit Exams. She played as a percussionist in her high school band for 2 years, and was a vocalist and pianist for her church worship team for 8 years. She continued teaching part-time and taking more piano lessons throughout college. Upon moving to San Diego in 2012, she began teaching on a more full-time basis for other studios until she eventually opened her own. She has also performed for a variety of events and private parties in the San Diego area. Jasmine has over 18 years of piano teaching experience and knows how important it is to adapt lessons to whatever works for each student.

Jasmine teaches in her home studio as well as online. She loves to teach very young children, older adults, and everyone in between. She is classically trained and prides herself on quickly teaching her students to read music and empowering them to be actively involved in their music education. But she also knows how important it is to have fun and play pieces that ignite your passion in music. She includes pop, jazz, religious music, lead sheets, and rock in her lessons based on the student’s preferences. Jasmine’s students are always well-rounded with lessons that include music theory, technical exercises, sight reading and ear training practice, and performance opportunities. She holds recitals twice a year and has a great incentives program to help keep kids motivated to practice.
